A 26-year-old man is facing a long list of charges, including resisting arrest, after a late-night trespassing call in Fort Creek over the weekend.

At around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, someone phoned 911 to report a trespasser on Montcalm Road.

Sault Police say when officers arrived on the scene, they found the suspect in a vehicle that did not belong to him.

The man refused to put his arms behind his back, police say, but he was ultimately arrested.

Police allege that a subsequent search of the suspect turned up a gift card stolen from the vehicle, a bag of tools that did not belong to him, and a small amount of suspected fentanyl.

Michael Huluk is charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Trespassing at Night
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on Dec. 18, 2023.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Huluk is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
