Police are accusing a Sault man of striking, biting, and kicking officers during an arrest.

Sault Ste. Marie Police say around 8:55 p.m. last night, they responded to a disturbance call in the 300 block of Lake Street.

Police say upon arrival the involved people had left the area but the investigation led officers to a residence in the 0-100 block of Hearst Street.

Police say responding officers attempted to speak with the accused about the alleged incident on Lake Street when he became confrontational and struck the officer.

Officers then attempted to arrest the accused, but report he continued to resist and assaulted another officer by biting and kicking them.

As a result, 29-year-old Christopher McKeachnie has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer and two counts of resisting a peace officer.

He was held for bail court.
