A man faces multiple charges after an altercation with police yesterday, Sault Ste. Marie Police said in a news release issued this morning.

Police say they responded to a call yesterday around 3:55 p.m. of an unwanted person in the 0-100 block of Wellington Street West.

When they arrived and asked the accused to leave the premises, it is alleged that he became confrontational and began assaulting officers.

Officers then had to use conducted energy weapons to gain control of the accused, and as a result, Robert Graham, 28, was arrested and charged with:

  • two counts of assault causing bodily harm,
  • aggravated assault,
  • four counts of resisting arrest; and
  • two counts of disarming a peace officer.

He was held for bail court.
