Man, 19, charged after knife brandished during altercation

A man faces charges after a knife was brandished during an altercation at a business on Great Northern Road.

On Sunday, Nov. 6, at around 9 p.m. a person attended a business in the 400 block of Great Northern Road where an altercation took place.

The accused pulled a knife and threatened the victim, Sault Ste. Marie Police said in a news release.

Officers responded and one person was arrested. A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a knife.

Codie Denis, 19, is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
