In an update issued today, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service reports that one of the accused, Turuk Thomas, arrested last Thursday on Grace Street was wanted by the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for first degree murder.

Thomas was arrested, along Anthony Koehler, after officers responded to Grace Street regarding a firearms call early Thursday morning.

During the investigation, officers seized 99 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $49,000. Thomas and Koehler, both of Kitchener, face trafficking charges as a result.

Thomas was held in custody and transferred to the Lambton OPP on Saturday.
