Inmate references Nova Scotia, threatens to 'shoot multiple people' once released, say police

On May 11, 2020, officers with Investigation Services arrested 55-year-old Frank Caicco for uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.

While in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre (ATRC) on May 8, 2020, it is alleged the accused threatened public safety, telling staff members when he is released he will get a gun and shoot multiple people. He referenced the recent tragedy in Nova Scotia.

Police were notified and officers attended the ATRC and arrested the accused. He is charged with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.

He was held for bail court.
