A woman is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after allegedly yelling at police officers who pulled her over early Saturday morning.
Sault Police say officers were on their way to an unrelated call at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 9 when they spotted a vehicle “travelling at a high rate of speed” in the 1400 block of Trunk Road.
“Officers conducted a traffic stop,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Upon speaking with the accused, who was yelling at officers and not being cooperative, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.”
Police say the woman provided multiple breath samples, all of which registered above the legal limit.
Rachael Clarke-Harvey, 32, is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
- Dangerous Operation
She was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 9.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
