Several police cruisers are on the scene and police have closed down McNabb Street and Pentagon Street.
Palace Drive and Princess Crescent have also been blocked.
Several people were seen in handcuffs on the front lawn of a residence on the 400 block of Placid Avenue.
A ballistic armoured truck and a K-9 unit were on scene and police had weapons drawn.
