Three Males Charged with Breach of a Release Order
Yesterday afternoon officers had occasion to stop a vehicle in the downtown area, which lead to the arrest of 3 persons. A police query revealed that the driver and one of the male passengers were each on release documents with conditions not to communicate with each other. Subsequently the driver, William Fleming age 19 of 105-634 Connaught Avenue and the passenger, 21-year old Brian Wing of upstairs-296 Beverly Street were arrested. Each male was charged with one count of breach of a release order. Mr. Wing was also charged with an additional count of breach of probation. Both males will appear in bail court this morning. Also in the above vehicle was 30-year old Jamie Bailey of 218 Gloucester Street. Mr. Bailey was wanted on outstanding warrants for two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 13th and 14th of July the accused threatened a male on two occasions and also smashed three windows out of another victims car. The incidents occurred in the City’s east end. Mr. Bailey will appear in court on November 7th.
Male Charged with Assault
A 42-year old male was arrested last night around 5 pm. It is alleged that on the 27th of September around 8 pm the accused attended at the downtown residence of his ex-girlfriend and pushed her and slapped her. The accused was on probation at the time of the offence. The male has been charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.
Male Assaults Common law Wife
Yesterday afternoon around 4 pm City Police attended at a downtown residence in regards to a domestic assault. It is alleged that a 21-year old male assaulted his common law wife. The two persons allegedly got into a verbal argument with resulted in the male assaulting the female by pining her against a wall. The victim got free and the accused then pushed her onto a bed and held her down. City Police were subsequently called. The male has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on November 9th.
House Fire
Just before 3 am this morning City Police attended at a residence in the 100 block of Albert Street East for a house fire. City Police attended along with the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service and assisted in traffic control and crowd control. It was determined the residence was vacant. Around 4 am personnel from Fire Services advised that the assistance of the City Police was no longer required and officers left the area.
Break and Enters
City Police received 2 reports of break and enters yesterday. A garage in the 600 block of Queen Street West was entered yesterday between 9 am and 12:30 pm. It is unknown at this time what was taken. A residence in the 4000 block of Second Line West was broken into yesterday between 8 am and 4 pm. Thieves took a Mario game cube.
