LONG WEEKEND POLICE TIPS
Today is the start of another long weekend. City Police are reminding the public to use care while on the road if you are travelling. Allow yourself room between your car and the car ahead of you, don’t engage in road rage, and pay attention to your driving.
Don’t get distracted by talking on your cell phone, and if you are tired, let someone else drive or take a break from the driving.
If you are going away for the weekend, let your neighbours know so that they can report any suspicious activity around your home to the police.
Make sure you leave lights on timers in your home and that you have motion sensor lights around the exterior of your home. If you have an alarm system, make sure you activate it while you are away. It is also a good idea to have a neighbour or friend check your house daily to ensure nothing has happened to it.
