Purse Theft
Investigation Services and Patrol Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 24 year-old Ryan Wills of 627 Shafer Avenue yesterday afternoon at the police station and charged him with one count of Theft under $5,000, one count of Possession of Stolen Property and three counts of Possession and Use of a Stolen Credit Card. It is alleged that on Saturday the 16th of October just after 7:30 pm, the accused stole a purse from a shopping cart of a shopper at the Wal Mart store. The accused then took possession of the victim’s credit card taken from her purse and attempted to use it at the Zellers store on Northern Ave for a purchase of approximately $300 including a $200 prepaid cell phone, a $50.00 calling card and a $50 Halloween costume. At this point the credit card was declined and the accused left the store. He then proceeded to the Canadian Tire Gas bar and made two purchases using the victim’s credit card. The accused is to appear in court on the 22nd of November.

Shoplifting Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 44 year-old Geoffrey Chamings of 613 Queen Street West (upstairs) last evening at Zellers in the Station Mall after he allegedly attended at the store and stole some items. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and is to appear in court on the 22nd of November.

Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 31 year-old Amy Lecompte of #9-110 Wilding Avenue last evening at Joe’s No Frills on Korah Road after she allegedly attended at the store last night and stole some items. She has been charge with one count of theft under $5.000 and is to appear in court on the 22nd of November.

Outstanding Warrant
32 year-old Rachel Day of 126 Bruce Street (upstairs) was arrested on an outstanding warrant by officers Sault Ste Marie Police Service last evening. She has been charged with one count of fail to appear in court. She is now to attend in court on the 22nd of November.

Break and Enters
• A residence on Bloor Street West was entered yesterday. Nothing was reported taken.
• An attempted break and enter was reported to a building in the 100 block of East Street.

Theft Reports
• Two vehicles were reported entered on West Dunrobin Bay, and Fifth Line East. A wallet, an iPod, a Dell XPS Laptop, a packsack and change were reported stolen.
• A U-Haul parked at a local hotel of Great Northern Road was entered and a suitcase was reported stolen.
• A bike was stolen from Terry Fox Place.
• Licence plates were taken from a vehicle on Clearview Drive.

Mischief
An election sign on Elizabeth was reported vandalized.
