Male Shoplifter Arrested

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 31 year-old Robert Phillips of 31 Albion Street at Sears at 3 pm yesterday and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 13th October at approximately 2:30 pm the accused attended at Sears in the Station Mall and stole a bottle of men's Hugo Boss cologne valued at $94.00.

He was apprehended by security officers and held for police. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation to keep the peace and be good. He is to appear in court on the 7th of November.

Motor Vehicle Collision Results in Impaired Driving Arrested

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 35 year-old Glen West of 379 Lake Street on the 14th of October at 2:30 am on Lake Street and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit.

It is alleged that on the 14th of October at approximately 2:26 am the accused was driving a 1999 GMC pickup truck northbound on Lake Street and struck a vehicle from behind that was stopped for the red light at the intersection of Lake Street and Trunk Road. Officers attended on scene and discovered the accused was under the influence of alcohol and he was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and consuming over the legal limit.

He is to appear in court on the 14th of November. No injuries were reported in the collision.

A 21 speed bike was stolen from St. Georges Avenue West around 6am yesterday morning.

Mischief Report

A window was broken at a residence on Wellington Street West
