Male Threatens to Cause Harm to Sister

Yesterday morning City Police arrested a 23 yr old male with threatening to cause bodily harm to his sister. It is alleged that on the 19th of November the accused made phone calls to his sisters’ residence and made verbal threats to her over the phone. The accused was arrested at a West end residence. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with terms to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The accused has been charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. The accused will appear in court on January 9th 2006.

Breach of Recognizance

A 17 yr old youth will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that the youth was on a release order to reside with their surety and to be in their residence between the hours of 9:00 pm and 7:00 am, except in the presence of their surety. The accused was arrested last evening at 10:40 pm at an East end residence while not being in the presence of their surety. The accused has been charged with two counts of breach of recognizance.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Yesterday morning officers responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Dennis Street. A car operated by Mara Saric of 526 Boundary Road was traveling northbound on Dennis Street when a van traveling west bound on Queen Street operated by Jacqueline Gloster of 539 Trunk Road pulled out in front of the car. It is alleged that Jacqueline Gloster traveled through a red light and in doing so struck the North bound vehicle. She has been charged with 1 count of Red Light Fail to Stop under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.



Snow Machine Collision

Yesterday afternoon police and ambulance responded to a motor vehicle collision at 305 Kingsford road. It is alleged that a Yamaha snow machine operated by 22 yr old Glen Pelchat of 331 sydenham road was traveling South bound on Murton avenue at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for the stop sign at Kingsford road. The Snow machine spun out of control hit a ditch and finally came to a stop when it struck the residence of 305 Kingsford road. The operator of the vehicle sustained injuries to his head and was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he is now listed in stable condition. The incident is still under investigation and charges are pending.

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

Last evening officers attended at the intersection of Wellington east and Spring street in regards to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. It is alleged that a car operated by 31 year old Pierre Desgroseillers of 453 John Street was traveling west bound on Wellington Street East passing Spring street when 16 year old Elizabeth Jones of 73 Spring Street ran from Spring street to the north side of Wellington street east and was struck by the west bound vehicle. The youth did sustain minor injuries and was transported to the hospital and later released. No charges have been laid in this incident.

Reminder

City Police would like to remind drivers to adjust their driving habits according to weather conditions. Drivers and pedestrians should allow themselves a little more travel time to arrive at their destinations. Road conditions are slippery and the recent snow fall has caused driving and walking conditions to be dangerous.
