On the 13th of November, 2014 at approximately 3:35 p.m., Patrol Services attended No Frills Store located at 514 Korah Road with regards to an adult male shoplifter. Charged is Robert James SMITHAM, 52 years old of Albert Street West, Sault Ste. Marie. It is alleged the accused placed unpaid groceries in a shopping bag and left the store without paying for the merchandise. The accused is charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on the 15th of December, 2014.
On the 13th of November, 2014 at approximately 4:49 p.m., Patrol Services attended the Walmart Store located at 446 Great Northern Road with regards to an adult male shoplifter. Charged is Terry JOLIN, 35 years old of Garson Coniston Road, Garson, Ontario. It is alleged the accused placed store merchandise in his pocket and left the store without paying for the item. The accused is charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in Court on the 15th of December 2014.
On the 13th of November, 2014 at approximately 7 p.m., detectives from Investigation Services arrested Jason Scott LAPLANTE, 44 years old of Fourth Line East, Sault Ste. Marie, for Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. It is alleged the accused offered cocaine to a young person on the 15th of October, 2014. The accused will appear in Adult Court on the 15th of December, 2014.
On the 13th of November, 2014 at approximately 7:46 p.m., Patrol Services responded to a domestic dispute in the west end of the city. Police investigation revealed the accused breached his recognizance by communicating with the victim, attending her address and being within 25 meters of the victim. In addition, the accused had attended inside the victim’s residence without lawful excuse. As a result, a 30-year-old male was charged with three counts of breaching his recognizance and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He will be appearing in Bail Court.
