YOUTH CHARGED On the 10th of November City Police arrested a 15-year old youth for break and enter. It is alleged the youth broke into Bunkers Paint Ball at 664 Queen Street East between the 7th and 8th of November.

YOUTH CHARGED

On the 10th of November City Police arrested a 15-year old youth for break and enter. It is alleged the youth broke into Bunkers Paint Ball at 664 Queen Street East between the 7th and 8th of November. Property worth $4,000 was taken including paintball guns, compressed air tanks and CO2 cartridges. When police arrested the accused they recovered 2 paintball guns and an air compressor. The youth will appear in bail court this morning and has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence and one count of possession of property obtained by crime-under $5,000.


Previous Release:

On October 31st shortly after 7 pm the Beaver Gas Bar on Korah Road was robbed. The clerk and the suspect were the only persons in the store. The male advised the clerk he had a weapon and that he needed the money from the till. The male was given an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk was not harmed. In addition to the money the male also left with a plain white plastic bag containing a large bag of Lay’s bbq chips and a Snicker chocolate bar. The male is described as being 5’6” to 5’8” tall, very slim build, approximately 140 to 160 pounds, and was wearing a black _ length nylon hoody which had a small red label on the front of it, as well as 2 slash front pockets. He was wearing black baggy wind pants, white sports socks, and black sport sandals. He had a very narrow face, was clean shaven, had brown eyes, and his hair was described as being dark, medium length and very curly. This matter is currently under investigation by officers from the Investigation Services Section of the City Police. UPDATE:

On the 10th of November City Police arrested 30-year-old Dale Boyer of no fixed address and charged him with one count of robbery in relation to the above incident. He will appear in bail court this morning.
On the 10th of November around 11 pm an officer from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was driving northbound on Dacey Road when the officer had to move out of the way of a southbound vehicle that swerved in front of the cruiser. The officer turned around and tried to stop the driver of the vehicle by way of roof lights and sirens. The driver stopped in their driveway and was arrested by the officer. Gary Chiccarelli of 87 Softwood Drive has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on December 20th.

IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES

On the 10th of November around midnight officer stopped Michael Miller age 33 of 5-710 Second Line West and charged him with impaired driving and consume over the legal limit. Mr Miller was also charged with 2 counts of probation and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. Officers located approximately 8 grams of cannabis resin on the accused with a street value of approximately $300. The accused will appear in court on December 20th.

4 PERSONS ARRESTED

On the morning of November 11th officers from the City Police executed a search warrant at 301-175 Queen Street East. 4 persons were arrested in relation to the warrant. Officers seized a small amount of cannabis resin. They also found a Remington rifle that had been taken from a break and enter on the 19th of September from a residence in the City’s west end. Police also located a .45 calibre handgun clip, riflescope and other rifle magazines. Also located in the residence was identification belonging to a person who had reported the items stolen within the last 2 weeks. None of the person in the residence possessed a licence for the firearm. All 4 persons have been charged with 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of contravention of a regulation under the Firearms Act, one count of possession of prohibited weapon, device or ammunition knowing it’s possession is unauthorized, and one count of possession of weapon obtained by crime. 28-year old Kerry Robert Mearow of 301-175 Queen Street will appear in court on December 20th. 23-year old Courtney Cartmill of 301-175 Queen St East was also charged with one count of breach of probation and will appear in court on December 20th. Joseph Elie, age 22 of 483 Second Avenue was also charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of possession contrary to order-failure to surrender documents, and he will appear in court on December 20th. Phillip Fournier, age 27, of 310-721 Pine Street was also charged with 3 offences of breach of a release document and he will appear in bail court this morning.

TRAFFICKING CHARGES

On the 11th of November officers from the Joint Forces Drug Unit executed a warrant at 141 Chestnut St and arrested two females for possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. Officers located approximately 1 gram of cocaine with a street value of approximately $100. Billie Jo Marin age 26, and Kelly Turner age 36 of that address will appear in court on December 13th.

FEMALE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION

On the 11th of November officers from the City Police and Joint Forces Drug Unit executed another search warrant. This time officers executed a warrant at 338-59 Old Garden River Road and located a small amount of oxycotin as well as cocaine. Officers located 2 bags from stolen lap top computers as well as stolen identification from an incident in May of this year. The value of the drugs is around $100. Angela Vella, age 22, of this address has been charged with 3 counts of possession of stolen property and 2 counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. She will appear in court on December 20th.
