Drug Bust
Last night at approx. 10:35 PM City Police were called to a residence in the 300 block of Korah Rd. regarding a large group of people throwing furniture onto the roadway. Upon arrival the officers spoke to the persons responsible and were allowed into the residence. While at the residence the officers located a quantity of controlled substance -hash oil and subsequently arrested the persons in the residence. Two adults and four young persons were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance.The officers located 20 – 5-gram vials of hash oil on the persons and in the residence. The street value of the drug is estimated to be approx. $ 2,000.00.Two of the accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM the others will be in court on Monday June 13th at 9:00 AM and on Tuesday June 14th at 9:30 AM.
Impaired Driver
At approx. 3:05AM this morning City Police attended in front of 290 Queen St.E. regarding a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival by officer they discovered that a single motor vehicle had been involved in a collision with a flowerpot. Further investigation by the officers revealed that the vehicle was stolen and that the driver of the vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The accused was at this time arrested and charged with Impaired Driving, Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample, Theft Over $ 5,000.00, Possession Over$ 5,000.00 and Breach of Probation. The accused 22-year-old Paul Firlotte of 97 Adrian Dr. will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Male Charged With Assault
Yesterday morning at approx. 8:30 AM City Police were called to attend in the area of the Civic Centre in regards to an assault. Upon arrival officers were informed that a male person allegedly assaulted a female person by slapping her in the face. As a result police arrested and charged a 48 year old male with Assault. He will be appearing in court on June 8th at 9:30 AM.
Possession of Stolen Property
On Wednesday May 6th at approx. 3:00 PM City Police were called to attend at Korah Collegiate regarding a theft complaint. Upon arrival a male person informed officers that a pick up truck in the parking lot contained his stolen stereo equipment. As a result the officers seized the truck and Equipment and subsequently arrested and charged that owner of the truck with Possession of Stolen Property. The accused, a 17-year-old youth, will be appearing in court on Tuesday June 14th at 9:30 AM.
