2 Incidents of Domestic Assault
1. Officers arrested a male last night just after 10pm in relation to a domestic assault. It’s believed that at about 9:30 yesterday evening the 34-year-old male attended at the west end residence of an ex-girlfriend and became involved in an argument with her and their son. It is also believed that the accused assaulted his ex by slapping and pushing her and then assaulted his son by pinning him to the wall. City Police were called and the accused was arrested at his west end residence. He has been charged with 2 counts of assault and will be appearing in Bail Court this morning.
2. A 48-year-old male has also been arrested in a domestic related incident. It is believed that this accused punched, chocked and pushed his common-law wife just after 2am this morning in their west end apartment. The accused was arrested a short while later and was charged with 1 count of assault and will be appearing in bail court this morning.
Female Charged with Theft Under $5,000
36-year-old Bonnie May Fanthom of 185 McQueen Road has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000.
It is believed that the accused attended at Sears Canada at 293 Bay Street and selected a razor. She then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the item. She was apprehended a short distance after by mall security and Police Officers were called. She is scheduled to appear in court on the 16th of April.
Two Females Charged with Possession & Trafficking
Just after 9pm last night City Police stopped a vehicle on Carufel Avenue and arrested the two females within it. It is believed that the females had in their possessions cocaine, a crack pipe and other drug paraphernalia. 39-year-old Janet Elizabeth Nichols of 109 Carufel Avenue has been charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and 1 count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. The second female arrested is 31-year-old Marcy McEwan of 92 Smale Avenue. She has been charged with 1 count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and 1 count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. Both are scheduled to appear in court on the 16th of April. Total weight of the cocaine seized was 25.4 grams.
Failing to Yield from a Driveway
A 17-year-old male who was operating a 2003 white Pontiac car has been charged with 1 count of failing to yield from a driveway under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. It’s believed that the male attempted to pull out of a driveway on Second Line West just after 3pm yesterday afternoon and struck a west bound 1988 blue Nissan driven by a 56-year-old male. The Pontiac suffered light damage and the Nissan suffered moderate damage and had to be towed away. No one required medical attention in this accident.
