SYRINGE FOUND ON SCHOOLYARD
Patrol officers were called to an east end elementary school where a school employee found a needle with red coloured liquid in the schoolyard on March 26th and a suspected drug smoking pipe in the same area on March 27th.

In the case of the syringe recovery, the cap was still on the needles tip. Parents and guardians of children are asked to advise their children not to pick up any syringes or needles they may encounter. Children need to be reminded to leave the needle alone and not to touch it.

A child finding a needle or suspected drug related item should immediately tell an adult about it or contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or 911. The investigation into these occurrences is continuing and anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact police.
