On the 9th of June 2006 between 4 pm and 6 pm the public is advised that a mock motor vehicle collision display will be taking place just past the intersection of Northern Avenue at Pine Street, to the east of the intersection. Motorists are being asked to pay attention in the area to the traffic flow.
The crash display is being organized by O.S.A.I.D. (Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving.) and is being done in conjunction with O.S.A.I.D. Week. Earlier in the week O.S.A.I.D. participated in a pasta dinner and a car wash.
A number of agencies are participating in this awareness display including the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Sault Fire Services and Sault Ambulance Services.
With graduation time approaching and summer time already here O.S.A.I.D. along with the community partners want to get the message out that drinking and driving do not mix. “Safe Grad-Safe Summer” and “Don’t Drink and Drive” are two awareness messages the public is asked to remember.
For further information you can contact O.S.A.I.D. President Jessica Fletcher at 945-7179 (work) or Shelly Noel O.S.A.I.D. Treasurer at 256-5634.
