NOT A GOOD DAY
A 36-year-old male will appear in bail court today on drug related matters as well as domestic violence matters. The male has been charged with assault after it was alleged he slapping the victim and pushed her into walls. The accused was further charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon after officers from the Joint Forces Drug Unit executed a warrant on a vehicle owned by the accused. Police seized a small amount of cocaine and cannabis resin with a street value of $150. Also seized was a butterfly knife located in the vehicle.
WAS ON PROBATION BUT STILL…
Another male will also be in bail court this morning on domestic related charges after he damaged the victim’s vehicle by kicking it. The accused was on probation with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim, as well as to keep the peace and be good. The male has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation.
STUDENT HARASSES FACULTY MEMBER
An 18-year-old person will appear in court on July 19th after being charged with criminal harassment. The victim of the harassment is a faculty member of a central area school where the accused is also a student. It is alleged the student repeatedly communicated with the victim causing the victim to be concerned. The name of the student and the school is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
WARNING: RIDE PROGRAM IN OPERATION
27-year old Aaron Taylor of 130 Glen Avenue was arrested yesterday around 10:30 pm after his vehicle went through a RIDE check on Chambers Avenue last night. Mr. Taylor was charged with consume over the legal limit and will appear in court on July 19th.
40-year-old Robert J Desjardins of 1350 Peoples Road will appear in court on July 19th as well. A approximately 2:20 am this morning the accused was stopped on St Georges Avenue during a RIDE program. Mr. Desjardin was charged with consume over the legal limit.
TURNS SELF IN
29-year-old Aaron Morin of 243 Hampton Road will appear in court after he turned himself in on outstanding warrants. Mr. Morin had been charged with 2 counts of assault from an incident involving 2 males back in November of 2003 and failed to attend his court date. Subsequently a warrant for 2 counts of assault and one count of failing to attend court was issued regarding this charges. He will appear in court on July 29th.
