The following persons will appear in bail court this morning:
1) A 25-year old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with three counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the male and his girlfriend got into a verbal argument and police were called. Officers learned that the male was on a release document with conditions not to be at the female’s address, not to communicate with her and not to molest, harass or annoy her.
2) A 43-year old female was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with two counts of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of forcible confinement. It is alleged that on the 4th of January the accused assaulted her teenage daughter by pushing her down the stairs of their residence, punching and kicking her and striking her with a broomstick. The victim did not require medical treatment for her injuries. It is alleged that the accused also forced a teenage female friend of her daughters into the basement of the home. It is further alleged that the accused also assaulted the mother of the teenage friend by pushing her.
3) A 15-year old youth has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). It is alleged that on the 2nd of January and the 3rd of January the accused assaulted her younger sibling and also threatened to harm him.
Youth Charged with Break & Enter
Last evening officers from Patrol Services arrested a 16-year old male youth and charged him with one count of break and enter with intent. Officers also arrested and charged a 17-year old male youth with one count of break and enter with intent, one count of breach of probation under the YCJA and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 4th of January just after 7 pm the two youths attempted to break into a portable classroom at Rosedale School on Chapple Avenue. An alert neighbour called the police. After a brief foot chase both youths were taken into custody and will appear in court on January 30th.
