ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING POLICE
On Tuesday, December 31, at approximately 11:30 pm, police went to a home on Copernicus for an unknown 911 call. Officers found the front door to the home was open. Mr. Lee Pine, age 31 of 1179 Echo River Road, Garden River, began to speak with police in an abusive manner and continued to do so until he confronted police by running toward one of the officers in an aggressive manner. Officers arrested Mr. Pine for Assaulting Police and Resisting Arrest. A police check revealed he was on probation to keep the peace. He will appear in court February 10th.
MAN ASSAULTS WOMAN
On Wednesday, at approximately 3:05 am, Marc Beaulieu, age 32 of 108 Allard Street, assaulted an adult female by striking her several times in the face with an open hand. The assault occurred in the victim's apartment. The victim suffered a bloody nose and bruised cheeks. Police were called and the accused was arrested and charged with assault. He will appear in court February 10th.
WAWA MAN ARRESTED
On Wednesday, January 1, at 6:55 am, Daniel Vallee, age 19 of 615 MacDonald Avenue, apartment #201 was at his residence when police arrived to investigate a complaint of two males fighting. Officers spoke with Vallee who advised he had moved to this apartment four days previous from Wawa.
Vallee had an odour of an alcoholic beverages on his breath and said he had been drinking beer. Police record checks revealed Vallee was on probation with conditions not to drink and to notify the police of any change of address. Officers arrested and charged him with two counts of breach of probation. He is scheduled for court February 10th.
CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED
Wednesday at about 4:15 am, Jason Alexander, age 28 of 211 Pine St. was driving a 1987 Pontiac Grand Am eastbound on Wellington Street East while allegedly impaired by alcohol. City police on Forrest Avenue stopped the accused and at 4:20 am and arrested him for impaired driving. He was brought to the Police Services Building for breath tests, where he refused to blow. He has been has been charged with Impaired Driving and Refusing to Provide Breath Samples. He will appear in court February 10th.
WOMAN ARRESTED ON OUTSTANDING WARRANT
Wednesday, at approximately 4:30 pm, officers were call to a Second Avenue address in to investigate a noise complaint. On arrival, they spoke with Cheryl-Anne Sizer, age 38 of 79 Chapple Avenue who was on the police service computer system as wanted on a first appearance arrest warrant. Officers executed the arrest warrant for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug and Sizer will appear in court Feb. 10th.
