FOURTH YOUNGSTER CHARGED
A fourth young person has been charged with the break-in at the Memorial Gardens this week. He will appear in court on March 2 to answer charges of Break & Enter, Mischief and breach of probation. He turned himself in at noon yesterday at the police station.
ACCIDENT RESULTS IN CHARGES
A 2-vehicle collision at the intersection of John and Wellington Streets has resulted in one driver being charged.
Kelly Ravelich-Gendreau, age 41 of 579 John Street was driving her car south on John Street when she allegedly proceeded through the intersection and struck an eastbound vehicle that was being driven by Michael Tuomela, age 45 of 84 Hillside Drive.
Ms. Ravelich-Gendreau has been charged with failing to stop for a red light and driving without a licence. There was some moderate damage to the Tuomela vehicle and severe damage to the Ravelich-Gendreau vehicle. There were no injuries.
WENT THROUGH RED LIGHT
An accident at the intersection of Bay and Spring streets resulted in Lavonne Lucier, age 36 of 1861 Government Road, Echo Bay, being charged with failing to stop for a red light.
She was driving her vehicle east on Bay Street when she proceeded through the intersection striking a van being driven by 60-year-old Sally O’Brien of 43 Burton Road who was travelling south on Spring Street.
The accident, which occurred at 10:49 last night, caused light damage to the Lucier vehicle and moderate damage to the O’Brien van. No injuries were reported.
NO INJURIES IN ACCIDENT
At 3:48 p.m. yesterday there was a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Dablon Street and Eagle Drive that resulted in 18-year-old Jessica Carr of Sault Michigan being charged with making an unsafe turn.
Carr was attempting to make a left turn from Eagle Drive onto Dablon Street when she allegedly turned in front of an eastbound vehicle being driven by Michelle Iannelli, age 37 of 92 Millcreek Drive.
There was light damage to the Iannelli vehicle and moderate damage to the Carr vehicle. There were no injuries.
WEATHER CAUSES ACCIDENTS
From Wednesday at 4pm to 11:15pm Thursday, there have been 38 motor vehicle collisions reported.
