BAWATING STUDENT CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER The Sault Ste Marie Police Service has arrested an 18-year-old male and charged him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service has arrested an 18-year-old male and charged him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace. These charges stem from an incident that took place yesterday afternoon at a local high school.

A student from Bawating High School took a pair of scissors to school for the purpose of assaulting another student. At approx. 3:00 p.m., the suspect stabbed the victim in the back. The blow struck the victim in the upper back area. The victim, who had been sitting, got up and ran.

The accused suffered a laceration to his hand and was taken to the hospital by school staff. Police went to the hospital and arrested the accused. The victim received minor injuries and did not require immediate medical treatment.

Charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, is Ryan Dommerman, age 18, of 388 Northern Avenue East. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 1: 30 p.m. The investigation is continuing.

STOLEN VEHICLES
There were two vehicles stolen yesterday. A 1991 Nissan with no plates was stolen from the 1100 block of Peoples Road and the second, a navy blue 1989 Dodge Spirit 4 door (Lic. # AMCP 128), was taken from The Drive.

City Police are also investigating a theft from a vehicle from the 100 block of Albion St and an entry into a car in the 100 block of Wellington Street East.
