On December 31, 2015 at 6 p.m.. city police were called to a west end residence regarding a theft complaint. Officers, during the course of their investigation, arrested Mary Morine of no fixed address for theft.

On December 31, 2015 at 6 p.m.. city police were called to a west end residence regarding a theft complaint. Officers, during the course of their investigation, arrested Mary Morine of no fixed address for theft. During the arrest the accused resisted officers. She was charged with one count of resist a peace officer. She will be appearing in court on February 01, 2015.

On January 1 at 2:40 a.m. patrol officers conducting a RIDE check arrested and charged Jeffrey Pelletier, age 28, of Cumberland avenue with Driving over .08. He was additionally charged with two counts of Breach of Recognizance. Pelletier will appear in court on February the 8th.

On January 1, at 4:04 a.m. patrol officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wallace Terrace at Korah Road. The officers found the driver of the motor vehicle to have been drinking. The driver, Melanie Stone, age 38, of Wawa was arrested and charged with Drive over .08. She will appear in court on February 8, 2016.

Overnight Patrol Officers arrested four adult persons for being intoxicated in a public. These persons were brought to the station to sober up. 

On January 1 at 10:45 a.m. patrol officers were called to a home on Albert Street East for a disturbance. Officers had initially received information that a domestic dispute was occurring in the residence. When officers arrived they found broken windows and blood in the porch area of the home. During the course of the officers investigating this incident a 26-year-old male was arrested and charged with Obstructing Police, Assaulting Police and Resisting Arrest. A 21-year-old female from the residence was also arrested and charged with Breach of Undertaking. The female was on release conditions not to communicate with a third party in the home. These persons will appear in court on February 8, 2016. The investigation is ongoing.

On the 1st of January, 2016, at approximately 0345 hrs the Sault Ste Marie Police received a call with regards to a single motor vehicle collision with injuries in the 900 block of Goulais Avenue. Patrol Officers, as well as Fire and EMS services responded after further information was received that one or more of the occupants may have been trapped in the vehicle. Fire Services provided extrication, and all four occupants were transported to hospital by EMS with major injuries. Officers from Traffic, Forensic and Investigation Services are involved in the investigation. Initial investigation has revealed that a 2006 white Chevy pickup was proceeding northbound when it left the roadway striking a culvert on the east side of Goulais avenue.  The pickup was demolished as result of the collision. The investigation is ongoing, however the 16 year old male driver has been charged with 3 counts of Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm and Breach of a Recognizance. Further charges are pending.
