MAN SMASHED GLASS IN DOOR Yesterday at 8:50 am at an apartment complex on Goulais Avenue, the accused, Shawn Blais, age 26 of 84 Central St. became involved in a verbal argument with one of the residents.

Yesterday at 8:50 am at an apartment complex on Goulais Avenue, the accused, Shawn Blais, age 26 of 84 Central St. became involved in a verbal argument with one of the residents.

As the accused was leaving the building he allegedly smashed out a window in the front door with his foot. The window is not valued more than $500. Patrol officers located Blais outside his residence at 9:28 am. They arrested and charged him with Mischief under $5,000.00. He will appear in court March 31st.


CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED
Yesterday at approximately 12:35 pm, patrol officers were dispatched to a vehicle stuck in the snow bank on Great Northern Road north of Third Line.

When Officers arrived at the scene they found the accused Thomas James Mahoney, age 63 of 273 Nixon Road had care and control of his motor vehicle, a Jeep, by sitting in the driver's seat with the keys in the ignition and hands on the steering wheel while being impaired.

Officers arrested and charged Mahoney with Impaired Driving and Driving over .08. He will appear in court April 7th.


ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
Yesterday at 3:10 pm, Barbara Ivy-Booth, age 45 of 91 Breton Road allegedly committed theft by concealing a bracelet taken from Sears' jewellery department.

The accused placed the bracelet on her wrist and walked out of the store without paying for it. Store security apprehended her and at 4:08 pm patrol officers arrested and charged her with Theft under $5,000.00. She will appear in court on March 31st.


ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
Yesterday, Melissa Dlutek, age 18 of 443 Northern Avenue East # 325 allegedly stole a System Link 4 RCA valued at $20.67 from Canadian Tire, committing the offence of Theft under $5000.

She was taken to the security office and held for police. Police officers arrived at 7:45 pm and arrested and charged Dlutek with Theft under $5000. She will appear in court April7th.


POLICE SPOT STOLEN SNOWMOBILE
Yesterday at approximately 8:55 pm, patrol officers observed a 2003 yellow Skidoo MXZ in a driveway at a residence on Robin Street. This snow machine matched the description of a machine reported stolen from Elliot Lake.

Police records checks revealed that a Sporting Goods Store in Elliot Lake had earlier reported the snow machine stolen to the Elliot Lake Police Service.

Patrol officers arrested and charged Daniel WILE, age 19 of 20 Robin Street, with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.00. He will appear in court on April 7th.


BREACH OF UNDERTAKING
Early today at approximately 1:35 am, the accused Curtis Erb, age 18 of 569 Queen St. East #11 was found to be breaching an undertaking by being with a male named in his undertaking that he was not to associate with.

Erb was observed walking on Albert St. near Huron Street. Patrol Officers arrested and charged him with Failing to Comply with his Undertaking. Further they charged him with another count when police learned that he failed to notify them of a change of address on his undertaking. He will appear in bail court today.


POLICE CALLED TO DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE
This morning at 2:40, patrol officers were called to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Second Line West for a disturbance call. Upon their arrival, officers observed a Ryan Nahwegezhic, age 31 of 175 South Market Street #6, leaving the scene.

A police records check revealed that Nahwegezhic had several outstanding arrest warrants for Theft under $5,000.00, Possession of Stolen Property, Personating and Failing to Appear.

When Officers attempted to arrest him the accused fled on foot. He was pursued and caught in a field area adjacent to Second Line and Goulias Ave. Officers executed the arrest warrants and the accused will appear in bail court today.


BREAK & ENTER
At 9:30 am yesterday morning, patrol officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a break-in to the Superior Golf Club off Gagnon Road. Just before 1:00 pm, officers went to a home on Rushmere Drive for another break-in investigation.

Officers noted that thieves entered the home through a basement window, went through a drawer and stole a jar full of money. Thieves then fled the area on foot. At 5:50 pm, officers were called to another break-in where a resident on Grace Street reported that their residence had been entered.

All of these break-ins are currently under investigation and anyone with information on them is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime stoppers.


WALLETS STOLEN
Police also took reports of two thefts of wallets yesterday. A female reported to Police that at approximately 1:24 pm yesterday, her purse was taken from an unlocked office on Spring Street. The purse contained identification and credit cards but no cash.

At 6:30 pm an adult male advised his wallet was stolen from the Pee Wee Arena on Northern Avenue. If you have information on these thefts or know of the whereabouts of these stolen wallets, you are asked to contact the City Police at 949-6300 or Crime stoppers.
