Impaired Driver Busted At Customs
At approximately 2:40 a.m. this morning City Police were called to attend at Canada Customs for an impaired driver.
It is alleged that Steven Turco, age 21, of 506 Charles Street, drove his vehicle across the International Bridge while under the influence of alcohol.
The accused was stopped at the Canada Customs booth and arrested by a Canada Customs Officer and turned over to City Police.
Mr. Turco will be appearing in court on Monday Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.
Mischief At SJD
City Police arrested three young males yesterday and charged them with mischief under $5,000.
It is alleged that the youths attended at Sir James Dunn High School and broke four windows at the school.
Upon searching the youths officers found a small quantity of marijuana on one of the accused.
The three youths will be appearing in court on Tuesday September 5 at 9:30 a.m.
Short Police Pursuit
At approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning City Police attempted to stop a vehicle on Cathcart Street near Huron Street.
The driver of the car refused to stop or pull over for the police and a short pursuit took place.
The suspect vehicle was followed through the rear lanes in the area of Huron Street and Wellington Street West.
It is alleged that the accused jumped out of his vehicle near the Wardlaw Gas Bar and ran from the car.
Police gave chase on foot and apprehended the accused.
The accused then struggled with and resisted police.
Accused was subsequently subdued and arrested.
James Francis Bolan, age 41, of 173 Biggings Avenue is charged with:
- fail to stop for police
- drive while disqualified
- resisting arrest and breach of probation
Mr. Bolan will be appearing in bail court today at 10 a.m.
Suspicious Men On North St.
At approximately 3 a.m. this morning City Police stopped and spoke to two suspicious males on North Street.
Investigation by the officers resulted in the two males being arrested and charged with: break and enter, possession of stolen property and trespass by night.
It is alleged that the accused broke into a residence on St. George's Avenue East and stole a propane tank, jewelry, a stereo, groceries and cash.
It is not known if the accused knew the victim.
The accused: Tyler Frank Tomas, age 20, of 491 North Street and David Desjardin, age 21, of 491 North Street will both be appearing in bail court today at 10 a.m.
