On Thursday, August 28, 2014, police received a call to attend Avery Construction property on Industrial Court B. The property owner had observed unwanted persons on his property attempting to remove scrap metal without his permission.

The property owner had observed unwanted persons on his property attempting to remove scrap metal without his permission. Those responsible left the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival, however with the aid of the complainant police were able to locate the persons believed responsible a few minutes later at a west end residence.

Arrested and charged with theft under $5000 are 30-year-old Ryan Moll and 22-year-old Amanda Mousseau of First Avenue. Moll will attend court on September 29 and Mousseau on October 6.

Yesterday at approximately 6 p.m., officers attended SportChek in the Station Mall regarding a shoplifter. Store employees at SportChek had detained a female who set off the stores security beepers upon leaving through the exit. It was determined that the security alarm went off due to approximately $360 worth of various clothing items that were hidden in her handbag at the time of exiting the store. These items had not been paid for. Arrested and charged with theft under $5000 is Rachelle Daynard of 49 Borron Avenue. She will attend court on September 29.

At approximately 3 a.m. this morning, police received a 911 call of a single motor vehicle collision on Goulias Avenue in the area of Third Line East. A vehicle had left the roadway and hit a PUC pole. The driver of the vehicle did receive minor injuries and was treated on scene by ambulance. While dealing with the driver officers observed that he was under the influence of alcohol. The male driver was arrested and transported to the police station where he later failed a breath test. Arrested and charged with Impaired Operation and Drive over 80mg is 20-year-old Kaleb Demour of 19 Durban Road.He will attend court September 29.

On August 29, 2014 at 12:30 a.m., city police attended at a motel in the east end of the city in regarding a disturbance. The accused, Dennis Swanson, 49 years old of Wellington Street East, was arrested and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged that he smashed a window in an exterior door with a tire iron. He will be appearing in court on October 6, 2014.

On August 29, 2014 at 12:50 a.m., city police arrested and charged a 17-year-old female in regard to a domestic assault. It is alleged that she struck the victim in the face with a metal candle holder causing injuries that required medical attention. As well she was on a probation order with numerous conditions. She was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation X 2. She will be appearing in Bail Court on August 29, 2014.
