DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Yesterday at approximately 12:00 pm, the accused, a 20-year-old male was having a domestic argument with a female on a west end street corner. The argument escalated to physical violence.
The female victim received minor injuries in the assault. At 1:30 pm patrol officers arrested and charged the male with Assault. He will appear in court on September 22, 2003.

In another domestic related incident yesterday at approximately 10:00 pm, a 36-year-old male was at a residence visiting his child when he became angry with the mother.
The male kicked and smashed a computer before he left the residence. As a result, at 11:10 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged him with Mischief. He will appear in court on September 29th.

On the 19th of August, at approximately 4:30 am, the accused, a 21-year-old male assaulted his common-law wife while they were at an east end home.
The accused grabbed the victim by the throat and choked her. No serious injuries were sustained by the victim and when police arrived the accused had left the area.
Early today at 12:20 am, the accused was observed walking through a municipal park in the city's north end when patrol officers stopped him.
A police records check revealed that the accused was wanted for assault and he was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence. He will appear in court on September 29th.
CAR-BICYCLE COLLISION
At 4:43 pm yesterday afternoon, patrol officers were called to a cyclist/motor vehicle collision on Wellington Street East at Elizabeth Street.
Michelle Shorkey, age 14 of 791 Second Line West was riding her bicycle south crossing Wellington Street when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
Angela Corocan, age 38 of 1670 Wellington St. East was driving the vehicle, a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban. The cyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
BREAK & ENTERS
On the 15th of August, the accused, a 15-year-old male from Sault Ste. Marie broke into the Westside Cafe. Once inside he took a small quantity of cash and several cartons of cigarettes. Yesterday at 8:33 am, patrol officers arrested and charged the youth with Break, Enter and Theft and Breach of Probation. He will appear in bail court today.

Early today, at 2:05 am, patrol officers arrested and charged three males with an attempt break-in to the This and That Store on Bruce Street.
The accused are Robert Day, age 19 of no fixed address, Shaun Mearow, age 22 of 2102 Mission Road, Goulais River and Edward Beaudry, age 19 of 74 Pelltiers Wikwimikong.
Witnesses advised officers that several males were trying to gain entrance to the store and upon their arrival, they observed the suspects near the scene. They will appear in bail court today.

At 8:30 am yesterday, patrol officers were called to the Shell Aviation Refueling Office at 475 Airport Road where thieves had broken in and stolen some pop and telephone services.

Shortly before 9:00 am, officers were called to 1332 and 1340 Great Northern Road where thieves had broken into Northern Small Engines and Northern Delights Ice Cream Parlor.
