Dangerous Driving & Fleeing From Police

26 year-old Michael Myers of #3-137 Biggings Avenue was arrested at 9:30pm on the 16th of August on Wellington Street East and charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and one count of fleeing from police. It is alleged that around 8:20 pm last night the accused was observed by city police driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Albert Street East with the wrong plates attached. When officers ran a check on the plates, they came back to a van. When police stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, the driver accelerated eastbound down Wellington Street East. at a high rate of speed and proceeded through four red lights along Wellington Street East before abandoning the vehicle in the Churchill Plaza parking lot and fleeing on foot. A short time later, the officers were checking the area, located the accused walking on Wellington Street East near Simpson Street and the arrest was made.
The accused is to appear in court on the 24th of September.

Breach

18 year-old Allan Massicotte of 715 Second Line West was arrested on the 16th of August at 3:40 pm and charged with one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that when the accused was arrested on the 14th of August for possession of property obtained by crime and fleeing from police, the accused gave police an address of 32 Bloucher Street and the accused was actually residing at 715 Second Line West at the time. He is to appear in court on the 24th of September.

Two Counts of Assault

A 38 year-old male was arrested last night around 7 pm at the city police station after turning himself in and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged that in August of 2006 the accused assaulted his girlfriend at his residence by punching her in the stomach and grabbing her by the arm. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted the same victim in April of this year at her west end residence by punching her in the hand area. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of September.

Female Charged with Assault

A 35 year-old female was arrested last night around 8:40 pm at her downtown residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 16th of August the accused assaulted her ex-boyfriend at his downtown residence by punching him in the face. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of September.

Charged for Not Paying their Cab Fare

19 year-old Kathleen Boissoneau of #2-35 Hughes Street and 20 year-old Loretta Waboose 166 South Market Street were both arrested on the 17th of August at 2:15 am on Albert Street East and charged with one count of obtain transportation by fraud. It is alleged that the two took a Checker cab from an address on Northern Avenue to Albert Street East. When the cab driver was stopping the cab the two accused ran on foot and did not pay the driver for the fare. Loretta Waboose was on a probation order at the time having conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and was further charged with one count of breach of probation. They are to appear in court on the 17th of August.

The following break and enters were reported yesterday:

1) A shed was broken into on Pine Street sometime between the 30th of July and the 15 August. A mountain bike was reported stolen.

2) A residence on Anna Street was entered at around 11:30 am. A neighbor reported seeing a male that may possibly be a suspect involved in the break and enter, wearing a white shirt on a bicycle in the driveway of the residence around that time carrying a dark blue duffle bag and then leaving the area. A DVD player, a camcorder, a wireless keyboard and some change was reported stolen.

3) A residence on Carpin Beach Road was entered sometime between 6 pm and 7 pm on the 16th of August. A DVD player and a Nintendo game cube were stolen.
