POLICE CAR DAMAGED

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 4:15 PM City Police received a call about an erratic driver on Gore St. Officers were dispatched but were unable to locate the vehicle. At approx. 5:10 PM City Police received another call for an erratic driver on John St., near the Blue Boy Restaurant. The description of the vehicle was similar to that of the Gore St. call. While going to this call officers received further information that the suspect vehicle was now at the Mac’s Mart on Gore St.

As police vehicles approached the Mac’s Mart Store, the suspect vehicle headed south on Gore St. A short pursuit ensued and ended when the accused person’s vehicle struck a police car on Albert St.W. at Gore St. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. He was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital.

The accused, a young person, has been charged with the following offences:
1. Impaired Driving. 2. Drive Over 80 mgs. 3. Dangerous Driving. 4. Flight from Police Officer.
The police officers were not injured in this incident. One police car suffered minor damage as a result of the collision.
The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

BREAK & ENTER: STIFFS CABBIE

At approx. 2:00 AM yesterday morning police were called to a Third Ave residence in regards to a male person breaking into the storage shed and stealing items from the shed. Police arrived on the scene and arrest one male person. Charged with Theft Under $ 5,000. , Break and Enter and Transportation Fraud
is Scott Allan Carnes, 25, of 395 Third Ave. Prior to committing the break and enter the accused is alleged to have taken a taxi to this location and then fled from the taxi without paying for the fare. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on May 17th at 9:00 AM.

ALBERT ST. W. ASSAULT

In other news at approx. 10:20 Pm City Police were called to an address in the 100 block of Albert St. W. in regards to an assault. Upon arriving officers received information that a female had assaulted a male person and threatened to kill him. The assault consisted of the victim being punched in the head several times. The female was subsequently arrested and charged. The accused, a 26-year-old female, was charged with: Assault and Threatening Death. She will be appearing in Bail court today at 10:00 AM. The accused and the victim are known to each.


MISCHIEF ON CHAPPLE

Police are investigating the report of a mischief that took place yesterday afternoon at approx. 3:00 PM in the 100 block of Chapple Ave. In the incident unknown person(s) threw a beer bottle through a window at a home. Anyone that may have information on this or any other incidents are asked to contact the City Police.
