Male Charged with Assault

A 50-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his ex-wife in her east end residence by grabbing her arm and shoving her on the 12th of April. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Youth Charged with Assault

A 17-year old youth will appear in court on May 31st after being arrested last evening. It is alleged that on the 9th of April the accused assaulted their mother and her common law boyfriend. It is alleged that the youth pushed the female victim across a room in a west end residence. The accused then assaulted the male victim by punching him in face. The accused left and then re-attended the residence with a hockey stick and struck the male victim in the arm. The accused then fled the residence. Neither victim required medical treatment at the time of the incident. The youth was arrested without incident last night after turning themselves in. The accused has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault causing bodily harm.

Breach of Release

21-year old Michael Radford of 732 Frontenac Street was arrested evening after it is alleged that he failed to comply with a curfew, which was a condition of a release order. Members of the Street Team were working on ensuring individuals are abiding by their release orders and as a result did a home check of the accused on April 14th, to ensure he was in his residence after 10:30 pm as set out in the release order. The accused was not in his residence. Mr. Radford was arrested and has been charged with one count of breach of a release order and will appear in court on May 30th.

Break and Enter

Yesterday a home in the 200 block of Moody Street was entered in the daytime morning hours. Thieves made off with a small-undisclosed amount of money.

Reminder

The City Police would like to remind citizens not to leave valuables in their vehicles. Reports have been taken of persons having their wallets and contents, credit cards, drivers licence’s, camera’s and even lap top computers taken from vehicles. You may not notice your credit card missing right away which gives a would be thief ample opportunity to go shopping. When your social insurance card, health card or drivers licence is taken, it becomes very easy for you to become a victim of identity theft. Protect yourself and take these items into the residence you are going into.
