Early morning traffic stop leads to impaired driving charges

Officers responded to call regarding an erratic driver shortly after midnight

Sault Police have charged [charges withdrawn] with impaired driving after officers responded to a report of an erratic driver shortly after midnight today.

In a news release issued today, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that responding officers located the vehicle in question in the area of Black Road and found the 38-year-old accused in the driver's seat.

Police "developed grounds to believe her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol," the release states, and she was arrested.

[Charges withdrawn] later "provided two breath samples into an approved device, registering two failed results."

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 22, and stands charged with driving – alcohol and drugs, and impaired driving blood alcohol concentration (80+).
