On June 2, 2020, officers with Patrol Services arrested 40-year-old Gerrit Huizing for impaired driving.

At 4:58 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Korah Road. It is alleged the accused lost control of his vehicle while attempting to make a turn onto Woodcroft Avenue, striking a parked vehicle and a building with his vehicle.

When police arrived on the scene and spoke with the accused they developed grounds to believe the accused’s ability to operate a vehicle was impaired. He was arrested and later given a drug recognition evaluation, which he registered a fail result.

He is charged with impaired driving alcohol or drugs. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2020.
