One of the drivers involved in Wednesday's crash on Bruce Street is facing an impaired driving charge.
The crash happened Wednesday around noon at the bottom of the Bruce Street hill near the intersection with Grosvenor Avenue.
When police arrived, officer spoke with witnesses who said one of the vehicles involved fled the area.
Police say they located the vehicle on Lansdowne Avenue and spoke with the driver, developing grounds be believe that the driver was impaired by alcohol.
The driver provided a breath sample and the result was above the legal limit.
As a result, 61-year-old Terry Wallenius has been charged with:
- operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80+)
- operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drug
- fail to report accident
- fail to remain
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 28, 2023.
