Driver charged with impaired after vehicle ends up in snowbank

Accused 'performed poorly' during a drug recognition evaluation following the incident, police say

Sault Police have accused Stanley Penno of being impaired by drugs after officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a snowbank on Second Line East last evening.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the 56-year-old accused "performed poorly" during a drug recognition evaluation following the incident.

Penno stands charged with  impaired driving alcohol and drugs, and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22.
