Sault police charged a 38-year-old driver with impaired after they were found asleep at the wheel.
The officers arrived at the scene in the intersection of Trunk Road and Boundary Road after 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 10. Upon arrival, they approached the vehicle and saw a driver sleeping behind the wheel of a running vehicle. The officers woke up the driver and made them turn off the vehicle.
Police believe the driver was intoxicated by alcohol. The accused was arrested and later provided breath samples.
As a result, David Trudeau, 38, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drug
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Trudeau was released on an appearance notice and will appear in court on Oct. 31, 2022.
