Police have charged Randi-Lyn Wise following a number of collisions that occurred on May 31.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that the 28-year-old accused struck three different vehicles while driving around the city, and then later falsely reported her vehicle stolen.

Full text of the news release follows:

On June 3, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 28-year-old Randi-Lyn Wise with dangerous operation.

On May 31, 2021 around 12 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle crossing a lane of traffic and striking another vehicle on McNabb Street.

Around 12:15 p.m., police received a report of the same vehicle striking a vehicle in the area of Black Road then driving through a red light.

It is further alleged a short time later the same vehicle struck another vehicle that was stopped at a red light in the area of McNabb Street and Windsor Street.

Around 12:30 p.m. officers located the vehicle in the area of Albion Street and nobody was present near the vehicle.

Around 3:20 p.m. the accused called to report her vehicle was stolen. The investigation determined the accused had been driving the vehicle, she is a suspended driver, and she filed a false report with police.

She was arrested on June 3, 2021.

She is charged with dangerous operation, public mischief as well as highway traffic act charges of drive while under suspension, unsafe lane move, failing to stop at a red light, improper left turn, disobeying a stop sign, and three counts of failing to remain.

She is scheduled to appear in court on July 12, 2021.
