Sault Police have arrested and charged Kaitlyn Coutts after it is alleged she fled from officers.
A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the 29-year-old driver was stopped at the intersection of Douglas Street and Sixth Avenue on Thursday for having an expired validation tag.
Investigation revealed she was also a suspended driver.
After officers requested she turn the vehicle off, it is alleged that she refused to do so and fled the area through a closed section of roadway "risking injury to people working in the area." No injuries were reported.
The accused was located and arrested Friday.
She stands accused of dangerous operation and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 2.
