Officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to two calls for service regarding counterfeit American $50 bills that were passed at businesses in the east end of the city yesterday.
The bills are printed on low quality paper and the ink on the back of both bills was smeared. Both seized bills were found to bear the same serial number, AE 01020304 A.
Businesses are reminded to inspect bills that they receive and report any suspicious bills or activity to police.
