Crash – originally reported as fatal – leaves victim with life-threatening injuries

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service reports that a pedestrian collision that occurred last evening has left a 58-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the woman was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Albert Street East as she was walking south from Hughes Street.

"It was initially reported the collision was fatal, however as a result of life saving measures, the woman is in hospital suffering from life-threatening injuries," the Police release states.

Sault Police have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have captured the incident on dash cam or video surveillance. Information may be submitted to Constable Ben Williams at 705-949-6300 ext. 382.
