11:30 a.m. update:
Sault Police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit confirmed Monday that a person was taken to hospital after being hit with a conducted energy weapon (CEW), more commonly referred to as a Taser or stun gun.
"Someone was in medical distress and confrontational with first responders," said Louttit. "A CEW was deployed and the person taken to hospital."

Multiple police units were on the scene at an apartment building on Cambridge Place in the city's east end on Sunday evening around 8 p.m.
At least one person was removed from the area by ambulance and an officer was seen putting what appeared to be the wires from a used CEW charge into an evidence bag immediately after the incident.
Police activity was focused on the building at 115 Cambridge Place. The ambulance left the area with flashing lights on and two police units left the scene shortly afterword.
After interviewing witnesses, the final two police units left the scene around 8:25 p.m.
