One person is facing assault charges after a victim was punched multiple times over the weekend, says a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
On Saturday, Sault Ste. Marie Police were called to a Grace Street residence at around 1:45 a.m.
Police say the suspect and victim are known to each other and the victim sustained minor injuries.
The suspect had already left the scene by the time officers arrived, but police were able to make an arrest just over a half hour later in the 700 block of Wellington Street East.
Skylar Ingram, 26, was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
