Sault Police made an arrest in a robbery investigation stemming from an incident that occurred yesterday afternoon on Wellington Street West.
A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that Justin McKay attended a business in the area, selected store items and attempted to leave without paying.
It is further alleged that when staff attempted to stop McKay, he elbowed a staff member in the face and fled.
The 32-year-old was located by police a short time later and placed under arrest.
McKay stands charged with with robbery and breach of probation, and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18.
