Arrest made in local child pornography investigation

Sault Police have arrested Kenneth Newell in relation to a child pornography investigation.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that between September 2020 and January 2021, the 68-year-old accused had shared child pornography online.

Yesterday at approximately 10 a.m. following the execution of a search warrant at an Albert Street East residence, Newell was arrested after he was found to be in possession of child pornography, police say.

He stands charged with making available child pornography and possession of child pornography.
