Arrest made after police respond to weapons call on Poplar Avenue

Sault Police arrested and charged Richard Mullen after officers responded to a report of a weapon on Poplar Avenue early Friday morning.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that officers attended a residence in the 200 block of Poplar Avenue at approximately 7:22 a.m.

Police say a BB gun was found in his possession during a search of the area.

The 34-year-old accused was held for bail court and stands charged with six counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, breach of firearms regulations, two counts of breach of recognizance, and breach of probation.
