Sault police say they have arrested an armed and wanted person who barricaded themselves inside a Manitou Park home for two hours Tuesday night.
In a brief news release issued just before midnight, police say officers responded to the 100 block of Farquhar Street at around 9 p.m.
“The barricaded person was taken into custody without incident” at around 11 p.m., the release says.
“There were significant police resources dispatched to the area, including members of Patrol Services, Investigation Services, and the Emergency Services Unit,” the release states. “Officers will remain on scene while the area is cleared. Further details will be released in the morning.”
The incident triggered plenty of discussion on social media Tuesday night, as neighbourhood residents shared what they were witnessing outside their doors.
