12:45 p.m. update:
Several Sault Police and Fire Services vehicles were at the scene the two-vehicle collision that occurred over the noon hour. The collision involved an ambulance and another vehicle.
Sault Police officers were controlling traffic as it was being diverted onto Peoples Road.
Police told SooToday that the motorist of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Original 12:20 p.m. information
Police are currently at the scene of a collision involving an ambulance at the intersection of Second Line and Peoples Road.
There was a patient in the ambulance being transported to hospital at the time of the crash. That patient has since been taken away in another ambulance.
It is unknown at this time if any injuries occurred as a result of the collision.
It is recommended that motorists avoid the area.
