Police say an intruder entered a Steelton area residence unannounced on Sunday and sexually assaulted a victim inside.
Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call that came in around 8:40 p.m. Sunday. They found a suspect and placed them under 'investigative detention'. An investigation ensued and the suspect was arrested.
Police say the accused and victim 'have had minimal contact before'.
Nicholas Cardinal, 23, is charged with:
- Sexual assault
- Unlawfully in dwelling house
The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
The allegation has not been tested in court. All accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
