On Thursday, Sault Police officers charged a 61-year-old man with assault causing bodily harm.
Shortly after 9 a.m., officers attended a residence in the 0-100 block of Bloor Street in response to a report of an assault.
“An investigation revealed the accused had punched the victim, who is known to them, more than 10 times in the head, face, and body. The victim sustained physical injuries,” police said in a news release.
Officers located the accused in the 700 block of Carmen’s Way and he was arrested.
Daniel Saunders is charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on March 10.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
